ParioPlan led an interdisciplinary team of architects, landscape architects and civil engineers in the preparation of the Town of Beaumont Downtown Urban Design Plan (DUDCP). The DUDCP provides a strong vision in the form of words and graphics to illustrate how downtown Beaumont wishes to develop and mature in the future. It provides the platform to attract like-minded developers and businesses. The planning process included extensive stakeholder and public consultation including key person interviews, focus groups and a design charrette. One of the key deliverables was a very detailed implementation program outlining action items, and their costs and responsibilities for implementation that would inform the City’s capital and operating budget. One of the key selling features of the DUDCP was the effective use of 3-dimensional graphics that allowed Council and stakeholders to visualize what the downtown of the future could look like. The DUDCP was approved by Beaumont Town Council on July 14, 2015. The project was completed on time and on budget.
